What's up everyone. Just got the new tank Sunday and I'm super excited to get it up and running. This will be my first reef ready tank. I currently have a standard 75 with hang on overflow and diy sump.

The 75 and sump are my first attempt at reefing. It was pretty easy to plumb with just an overflow, flex tube, and vinyl for return. Needless to say I'm a bit overwhelmed thinking about plumbing the new tank. I'm planning on an Herbie style with return over the top. Since the new tank will be in our living area I need it as quiet as possible. Oh yeah, here are some pics.

Equipment List so far
Reef octo 110
Jecod dcs-9000
Brs gfo reactor
200w heater
20 gl sump (diy)

First on the list is getting the sump built. I'll probably keep it simple but was looking at modular marine kits on eBay. I also need some input on which light to purchase. I like t5 but I'm open to led also. I have about 350 to work with for lights so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Well that's it for now. I'll post up as many pics as possible to keep track of the build. Thanks guys !!

Looks promising. Are you going with a minimalist style aquascape?

Following along! I've got the same tank and I'm about a month and a half into my first build. Good luck!

I've got a lot of rock in the 75 that I'll be reusing but yeah minimal is the plan. I like the bonsai look so that's what I'll aim for.

I finally got some time away from the move to work on the tank a bit. Here's my first attempt at the plumbing. I tried to keep it as simple as possible. Let me know what you guys think.

I also got my light in. I know it's not the best or fanciest led fixture. I just couldn't justify spending $400 on a light to the wife.

Sorry for the double post. Lol. I'm still debating on building a canopy and hanging it from the ceiling.

Another option, mount a bar in the shape of an L to the back of your stand and mount light fixture to that. Move the tank, light goes with it.

Got all the plumbing done and glued. My buddy came by and we leveled the tank out. Leak test coming soon. Here's a few pics.

Go with 2 100w heater. Because if the 200w heater fails is going to crash the tank so go with 2 100w heaters. Happy reefing. By the way super nice tank![emoji3]

What's up everyone. It's been a while since I got the transfer done. I didn't loose anything still, but my torch still hasn't had the PE it had in the 75. I still have a lot of work to do under the tank. Here's a few pics. Excuse the spider web of wires. Thats next on the to do list.

Been awhile. Finally got the scape redone to a point that I kinda like. Picked up a few corals from a member of my local club that was shutting down. Let me know what you guys think of the scape. Thanks.
