Deep red encrusting coralline algae!!!!!

I have coralline algae that is beginning to get outta control. It's starting to take over corals and frags. All over the rocks.
Any ideas on how to remove it and help keep it in check???

Are you sure it's coralline? I've never known it to be a bother to corals.

It's the plating type. Encrusting as well.

Well...that certainly is interesting. Very unique.
The most natural thing you can do is get an urchin. Get as small as you possibly can, those guys grow fast. The other alternative is picking it off the frags/corals/whatever it's growing on with perhaps a razor blade.
You could start off with one tuxedo and if the coralline grows faster than it can eat it (which is a great possibility), I would get another one. Depending on size of tank. It won't eliminate it, but it may certainly help in keeping it check.

I'm in the process of taking down the 120 that the mass majority of it is in and downsizing to a 33 long. I'm hoping by sending the rock to my sump that it will neutralize it lol. Fingers crossed!!!

Coralline generally doesn't cause problems are become invasive like you are describing. Try some Mexican turbos. Red turf alga looks like deep red fuzzy velvet and it grows quick. And you can't manually remove it like cyano.

I could definitely remove it. May take a grinder and some 20 grit sand paper but it would surely come off. ;-).

I had the same problem.. Just not as bad.. Mine was all over the sand bed.. I got a ecotech pump and it got rid of it.. (Many told me it's caused from water flow or over feeding)

The picture is what it was before it cleared... It took about a month after I got the new pump and my ecotech led lights for my tank. (Which are amazing!) good luck.

That's cyano. Low flow spots in the tank. This stuff is anywhere. High flow low flow it's not prejudice lol.
I have 2 wp-40's in my 120 and a pan world ps 250 pump for a return from my basement. Plastic frag plugs get blown from where I put em there's enough flow.

It's also no where on the sand. Just rock and structure. (Frag racks)
