Deformed Clownfish

Hey everybody, recently I bought a Latezonatus and a Mccullochi Clownfish, I have grand plans for them in the future hopefully, but it looks like they've got a good bit of deformities. In your opinion how badly deformed are these fish, and would these deformities be passed on to their offspring?

i personally tend to stay out of the Clarkii complex when it comes to clowns, I like the Perc and Maroon lines myself so that's where most of my experience is when it comes to structural confirmation.

What I can say is that if you start out with two parents with crappy confirmation, you're likely to get babies with the same problems or worse.

Are you 100% positive the second one is McCullochi? Granted I’ve never seen a juvenile McCullochi, it looks to be a misbar Latz clown that’s just even younger and smaller than the first one.

I'm pretty sure it is, that's what it was sold online as, and the website selling is pretty reliable so I would assume it is a Mccullochi.

If I were betting, I would bet the deformities are caused by inbreeding, which means their offspring would have it worse.

Deformities are caused by cutting corners while raising fry and inadequate nutrition. These defects should not affect future generations if they are raised properly.

Both have deformed faces, one has flat face. Very common in cb clowns, unfortunately. These two most likely came from wc parents. Breeders tend not to cull rare clowns even if they have deformities.

Both of them will look somewhat better with age.
