I was at my local fish store today and I saw a beautiful Dendronephthya colony. I didn't get any pictures but it was fully inflated and looked like it was feeding. I consider the person running it to be very trustworthy and he has decades of experience. I asked him about it and he said he's been keeping it healthy for about two months. It inflates every morning and deflates every night. The tank has no filtration of any kind - just a light, heater, and pumps - and he's just been feeding it oyster feast every day. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Similar experiences? It seems like everyone who's kept this coral for any length of time has such different methods.

I was talking about Dendronephthya not Dendrophyllia. Both are NPS but Dendronephthya is a leather coral and Dendrophyllia is related to duncans
