This will be my first build that I document. First let me tell you a little thing... I'm a french canadian, so its possible that my english is not perfect. Please forgive me in advance as I am sure i'll make alot of grammar and vocabular mistake.
And for the tank, of course it had to be another fluval spec hehe. So here we go:
Equipements:
LT marine and reef high performance 27w led
Tunze nano ato
maxijet 900 + stock pump
hydor 50w heater
DA reefkeeper lite
nanomag magnetic scrapper
digital thermometer (just for security)
MarinePure cermedia 1/2 box (sphere version)
About 4.5lbs dry rock
1lbs liverock for seeding
1inch sand bottom
I've made alot of testing and finally decided to remove the back chamber baffle. Mainly because all the things I wanted there could not fit and also because the only minijet 606 I could find was almost 70$ Could not justify paying that much And all other pump were either not powerful enough or too big for the return chamber. So in the back there is the stock pump that is placed on the bottom and pushes flow through the cermedia, also to avoid that water from overflow goes directly to maxijet 900 return. The heater is also there between the two pump so new water is constantly in contact with it. For the light unfortunatly the two channel are controllable only by hand so cant control individually (1 powercord) maybe its possible to open the fixture and diy a second power cable but I do not know enough to do that. Maybe in the future.
Plans:
For coral its gonna be mainly euphillia and zoo's. With a few other like leather, rics, clove polyps and a small patch of gsp (I know I know)
For fish, there if a 3 month old clown in it atm but will stay there only until I have my 120g ready wich will be in about 2 month. After that there gonna be a tailspot goby and purple firefish. Porcelain crab, 3 hermit, 1 nassarius, 3 trochus, 1 blue or gold coral banded shrimp. That pretty much it.
The tank has been cycling since jan 15, so I added a few thing last week.
5-6 different zoas (dont know the names) 2 ric of same morph, a leather, 2 frogspawn and a hammer. Virgil (clown) is in. With 3 trochus, 3 very small hermit
