Currently I use the BRS mixed bed color changing resin. I’m trying to get away from buying online and buy from my local LFS. He stocks spectrapure DI-SB-CI-10. I know the SB is silica buster but besides that what’s the difference? Will this work? I only have one resin cartridge in my RODI setup.

Spectrapure has good products, I have never used the silica buster cartridges. That is available to use in one of their new single resin systems.

Thanks for the reply. I was curious if it would work as well as the BRS mixed bed. We shall see. Just put a pre filled cartridge into my RODI system.

Spectrapure uses a blend of deionization resins specifically for our needs. I don't know if it's proprietary or not but I utilized their max cap and silica buster combination for years.

Along with SB I put the max cap (DI-MC-10HC) before the SB and they maintain 0 tds for a lot longer than the traditional DI resins. As I said, their blends are more than the traditional ation and cation found in other DI blends.

I can't say definitively that their product is better, that's simply subjective. But I find it to be head and shoulders above brs brand. Plus, I do enjoy not giving my business to brs and keeping it local.
