di resin

can anyone tell me what di resin is made of , basically if i was to make my own what would i need

You can recharge the di resin. That is what I do with what I have bought.

Polystere sulfonate can be prepared by retro synthesis, where you start with common compounds that has the basic chemical moeties, and then iteratively add/remove things (chemical parts/moeties) to get to the final molecule. This is the basic priniciple, you have to read up some drug/chemical manufacturing handbook on this. I would also check for petroleum bi-product based retro synthesis.
This is just for one of the components in DI resins, most commercial DI resin would likely to be more involved and complicated than this.
Similar to injection molding, this is likely to cost lot more for individual use, and will only make sense if you are doing it in large scale, but I may be wrong..since I don't really know the exact composition (other than they are mostly polysterene sulfonate and other organic compound with large aromatic rings)

wow thats alot of info there , well done .

but what i was ,, me and some friends an LFS get together ,, hoping for was buying very large quantity of Cation and anion resin an mixing it are self . but wasnt sure if that was all that was needed , and if theres a special Cation and anion resin to get , to mix
