hey guys i have a dual tds meter in my ro/di filter my question is when is really a good time to replace DI RESIN???:squigglemouth:

When your output reads above 0 :D

Thats really the best time, you can let it go up and see how your tank does (im around 2-4 TDS and the tank looks fine) but if you start having problems the first place to look would be the DI.

Its a bit of a matter of taste, but many people recommend when the TDS output gets above zero, others say at 5 its time to change. I personally change when it gets above 1, and I check the TDS post membrane at that time too.

di resin should be color changing, when its exuasted should turn orange i believe

For me, it still measures 0 TDS when the color changes so I keep using it until the TDS meter shows a change. I like the color change as it reminds me I have to test more, but otherwise I look for confirmation.

Just remember that the dual inline meters need to be recalibrated every once in awhile to be accurate. I tested mine with an accurate hand held meter and found that 0 on the dual inline was really TDS of 4. They cannot show neg numbers so when the water was really at 0 it read 0 and when the TDS was 4 it still read 0. Had to get have a TDS of 5 to get a value of 1 on my dual inline meter.

Me too. I usually get about 10 gallons or so after the color has changed. Sometimes I will let it get to 1 but never any higher than that.

I get mine from bulk reef supply, it starts blue and turns brown when depleted...I change it when I start to notice some brown, and the in-line TDS meter reads more than 0!
