So I got home today and noticed like 10 spines in a pile in the corner of the tank. Most didn't look like full spines. I feel like if he was sick he'd lose them slowly and I'd find them in different spots, not one pile. He hangs out by the power head in that corner a lot, could he have gotten knocked around by it maybe? He's very small, largest spines are only about 2 and a half to 3 inches. Not sure what to make of it. Anyone have any guesses or similar experience?

Losing spines is always a bad sign. This can usually be attributed to stress or illness. Check pH and SG stability and you other water parameters. Small swings can affect these creatures.

I have been every day. It's all perfect. Very stable
Nitrate=trace
Kh=9
Calc=430
Phos=0
Salinity=1.024

He's much worse today. Almost half his spines gone. Barely able to hold on to the glass. I seriously doubt he will make it much longer. I will wait a good while before I get a new one, and keep a close eye on things. Sux
