After struggling to keep euphyllias for the past year having them slowly recede and wither away and not find any pests on them i thought maybe my lights had to have something to do with it. Well when I first turned on the par meter it was showing around 380-400par at the lowest rocks on the sand bed where I was keeping the torches/hammers. So I’ve basically been cooking them unknowingly, I was only running the lights at 60% schedule intensity but I guess the lights are overkill for a 20 cube. My question is how much should I turn down and what is everyone else keeping there torches at as far as par goes?

Is this a mixed reef with SPS on top of the rocks?

I would shoot for 150–200 for euphyllia in a mixed reef tank. You could go a little lower if this isn’t a mixed reef.

Yes I have some easy monti caps and other sps at the very top they didn’t seem to mind the 600+par they were getting though

Oh wow it is way overkill over 20g. Like above said, 1/2 of what you had would be good or even lower if you are putting them elevated.

I kinda knew they would be over kill but a guy on here was offering them for next to nothing and they were G6s so I figured I can just use them on a bigger tank once I move places.

Also does anyone know if I should be adjusting the point intensity or the schedule intensity?I’m not really getting much of a change on the par meter with either even though it looks dimmer.

You have a big light source over a little tank, so that’s good to eliminate shadows.
Your par levels are at SPS levels already, you could go full blown SPS!
