Hey now. I have a rimmed tank and usually fill up to where the rim begins. I mean it’s not like it’s terribly low and I can still use it. I am just curious.

Outside right under the brace

I’m gonna get a rimless. I’m at work right now. Someone just asked me why my face is so red

The template needs to go inside the tank and pushed up to the rim, water line is right at trim.

Just use that for your return or cap the bulkhead, and drill a new hole for your overflow with the template inside. Not the end of the world.

i can’t I already have a return.

How bigs the tank? If its anything over a 40 or 55 I'd probably keep it and redrill the overflow in the center and split your return in two, might save you on power heads.

this is 100% salvageable, now if youre like me and want things to be a certain way you can always get another.

I think I’m just gonna get another. It will annoy the hell out of me.

Way low, sorry mate. Bottom of overflow teeth/slots should be level with bottom edge of the top trim.

FWIW, I botched a 20L trying to install an eschopps overflow. Fortunately it’s just a QT tank so I patched the ooops.

The hole could be used as a return line for a chiller, chaeto reactor or use the tank to blow off some steam/anger.

I just ordered a new one. My LFS should have it in 1 to 6 weeks
