Difference between MDF and particle board cabinet

I'm looking for a cabinet for my coral QT tank. It needs to be a somewhat pretty piece of forniture.

The WB nano cabinet is made out of laminated particle board; the Amtra Station cabinet is made out of laminated MDF.

I thought MDF was just a specific type of particle board, is it not?
Which one is more waterproof? I hate it when wood inflates because of water damage.
