I am working on a GSP only tank. I have a decent amount of “standard GSP”. I recently added a few frags of neon green GSP. I placed the new frags fairly close to the established colony. Those of you that have done this what happened? Did the different strains try and outgrow each other or did they just merge? Thank you in advance!

I had 3 different varieties. All 3 eventually grew together and kind of merged into one colony. Interestingly enough, the colony that resulted actually looked like it took on all 3 varieties characteristics. It became branching, curly tipped, and had bright white mouths.

I've never tried branching, but of the two strands I have, the "duller" color one wins out for space competition (and is everywhere now) while the brighter color just kinda got corralled into a tiny little spot:
*color blind so don't actually care that much,,, but so I'm told
