Dimmable CF's?

Stupid question #1: can Compact Fluorescent bulbs be put on a dimmer? And if so, does it shorten their burn time?

They do make dimmable compact flourescents. Normal life span on them.

Make sure the bulb is dimmable however...

Sorry. I should have been more specific in that I was referring to the CFL's typically found in Nano AIO's. But from what I'm reading it appears the ballast is the real culprit here. Guess I'll just plan on going with LED replacements for them and save some worry and headaches for myself. Thanx for the input!
