So I have a reefbrite 250w ballast with a 0-10v port and want to dim my lights. I got a schedule done on the vdm port v1. Now my question is do I go to 0 to turn them off or do I still need them plugged into the power bar to turn it on and off?

The halides will only dim down to about 30% you wanna set a outlet off time to full **** them off. Anything past 30 cause flickering. The ballasts have a protection built it to keep the arch lit so to speak

Set a on time and ramp up and then down to the off time. Love my reefbrites
I have them coming on at 100% then down to 80% 4 hours later then to 30% another 4 hours later. Just wasn’t sure that was the correct way of going about it. So far I’m impressed with it, it’s been only a week lol

Having a slight problem with this setup. When the halides turn on somehow triggers my temp probe to read 10 degrees higher instantly and since I have a fail safe of 82 degrees it turns off the halides. If I slide it from auto to on on the halide the temperature goes back to normal. Any ideas on what could be doing this?

I took it off so it wouldn’t shut down the light. I’ll put it back

I think i figured it out, v1 isn’t controlling the ballast it’s v2 lol

Now I can tell it’s working on v2 but it’s supposed to be at 100% and is dimmed.

Auto, if I turn it to off there’s a increase in ligh intensity
