Does this look like Dino's? Tank is 3 weeks old (transferred rock, coral, fish and media from 5 year old tank) new live sand.

Phosphate and nitrates have been 0 but have been dosing both Neonitro and Neophos as well as bacteria (special blend). Do you agree with this approach?

Those are definitely Dino’s (I’d bet a lot of money) Time for a 400x microscope to get the species to know how attack. Get nitrate/phos up, pods, phyto, good bacteria in the mean time. If it’s ostreopsis or coolia you’ll need a UV at 1W per 3 gallons and flow of 2-3x tank volume. The others will have you silicate dosing amongst other things. Get ahead before it takes over.

Okay good to know. Including some more photos zoomed in but will have more info in am.

Do these help to ID the type? I can get more if needed. The sand looked the same when lights came on.

Thank you. I have UV coming today. I thought osteo to but they weee still in strands on sand this am. Figured I would have seen less in sand prior to lights on.

I shouldn't add pods while running UV correct? Hoping this UV unit will work until the Innovative Marine UB unit for my tank arrives next week. Thinking I should suck up as much as possible off the sand while running UV?

Has to be 1W per 3 gallons and 2-3x tank volume. If flow is faster than that it’s waste of money. Won’t do a thing.

No need to go crazy vacuuming the sand. Ostreos go into the water column when your lights go out. Which reminds me, you can just run the UV at night

Starting to make some head way. 1/2 as much in the sand, more on rocks with bubbles but did notice my glass is covered in pods which I did not put in the tank.

Dino's looked to be going away but now have this. Some bubbles and string. Thought this may be diatoms and a little bit of Dino's. Thinking still Dino's on rock work.
