Today’s reminder to DIP YOUR CORAL especially if the source is questionable. These are what came off of my new zoas. There were a dozen or more wriggling around and very much alive.

Please tell me you have a microscope or macro lens sitting around somewhere and can put one of those guys under it? 👀

Those could be Tanaids or small Amphipods, but obviously it's too blurry to properly identify.

That nearly looks like a fish-larvae, but I doubt it would hitchhike on a zoa frag.

Potential flatworm?

That's too bad, well... maybe next time 🙂

IME dips remove pods, amphipods, bristleworms.... basically the good stuff, but they don't remove the true pests: aptaisia, clove polyps, hydroids, vermatids, etc....

I've killed way more amphipods with dips than anything else 😜 I still do it out of habit though.
