I just noticed that my hammer fell over and has been stinging one of my chalices all day. It's only maybe a quarter of the chalice that's been affected but do you recommend dipping it in anything to keep it from getting worse?

You could - or you could also leave it for a day or two to see if it gets worse or recovers all on its own.

One of my monticaps got damaged (reaction to a supplement) and it was recovering the next day. A fungia plate that also had the same adverse reaction struggled for a week, so I gave it a quick 5-min Reef Primer dip and that helped it along.

IMO it is best to dip it if you can easily.
