Hi everyone,

I recently noticed multiple small dark purple/black dots on the underside of my space invader chalice. The spots seem embedded within the tissue along the ridges/septa and do not obviously move.

I attached several pictures after putting it out of the tank. It is attached to a single stone.

Are these normal pigment structures for a Space Invader Chalice?
Or would you recommend dipping? If yes, what shoud I use?
Tank parameters are stable and other corals look fine.

Thanks a lot for any help!

Are they Vermitid?
Are they easily removed?
If the coral is otherwise healthy a intervention may not be warranted.

Thanks for your answer. They are actually not easily removable and seem rather integrated into the tissue. I also do not see any calcified tubes and have never noticed mucus webs so far, which made me wonder whether this may be something else rather than vermetids.
