I have mostly run my tank with softies, LPS, and some montipora. I saw this green stick for 10 bucks and thought why not throw it in the tank and see what happens.

So my question is, what kind of sps is this and can I expect it to stay neon green?

If you are not currently a 'testaholic' you will want to move in that direction.

I am making the conversion from "that one coral" that looks off so I know It's time to do a water change to testing multiple parameters consistently.

Have too many fish in the tank, small fish but large numbers, so I need to watch things a lot more closely now.

Hoping that extra testing will get me into the range where I can keep SPS alive for more than 3 months.

You do not need to chase numbers all over the place.
but knowing your numbers and keeping them fairly stable is one of the priorities for SPS.
