This is my first tank and its been up since 3/1/2012 everything has been going great no major issues, other than a small drop in CA/ALK and salinity when I went on vacation in June. I have had a very stable tank for my first tank, but my question is am I wanting things to grow faster than I think they should? I see some people's tanks that have been up for a year and I just don't think my tank will even one close in growing. Below are my tank info and parameters;

60g cube
20g sump
Reef Octopus NW 150
Lights - AquaXtreme T-5 424
2 - Koralia 750

Temp - 80.2
Nitrates - 2
Alkalinity - 9.6
Salinity - 1.025
Calcium - 450
Phosphates - 0

Am I expecting faster growth than I should?

Try to get you're nitrates to zero and how about some info on what's in your tank for more help.

Each tank is different and the corals will grow at different rates. I have noticed with my tank that if I don't focus on the growth, everything seems to grow faster. What types of things are looking to see growth in?

I would not sweat it. The tank has some awesome looking coralline algae growing. I think it is just a matter of time before the growth takes off. :)
