Hello R2R Friends, what is your experience with dirty salt bins?? Mine would get dirty from time to time using IO regular and RC and coralife salt brands. Of course we know those salts will leave the bin dirty over time but I switched to tropic marin awhile back and in my mixing bin that has only seen tropic marin salts it has finally gotten dirty!!! We've seen before from other people that TM pro does not leave your bin dirty at all. My question is has anyone ever used the "store use" bags before, that is what I use? They use mag flake in the bags for stores because it makes it a bit cheaper than the Pharma grade magnesium salts and I'm starting to question if its a dirty magnesium just like every other brand. Most if not all magnesium mined from the earth is extremely dirty. What are your thoughts?

Switched from Red Sea Pro to TMP because of the brown build up in mixing station. Have not seen the “Store Use” bags.
I tried to upload a photo but the computer is acting up. its a 200 gallon bag and the kicker is if you want consistent magnesium levels you need to mix the whole bag all at once because of the mag flake used in the bags. I believe it is dirty magnesium.

Not that i like seriously care but it is interesting to say the least. I could totally be wrong and its a coincidence but i do know for a fact that the magnesium in the store use only bags has is different from what you get from the consumer style buckets. I.E. mined mag that is a little dirty. It has taken about a 150 gallons mixed in the bin to start getting dirty and about 180 gallons mixed to require some cleaning.

TM pro is still in stock on BRS by the way, they now have a 160 gallon box that a bit cheaper than the $110 200 gallon bucket if your getting low!
Thank you for the heads up!
