Need help identifying this disease on my tang, suspecting velvet, thought it was ich at first. It has killed a lot in the past couple days but has been around for a week or two, I've been trying trying treat it with herbtana at first (before I knew how bad this was going to get) and now I'm dosing Polyp-Labs Medic at double dose. Thanks

It does look like velvet. How does the breathing look on the fish? Is it very rapid?

Symptoms are lots of flashing and scratching, they're still eating, though he looses interest in seaweed every other day it seems. Doesn't seem to be sensitive to light but he is reclusive.
So far I've lost;
2x clownfish (very rapidly, no symptoms)
Carpenter wrasse (fought it for a few days, flashing, rapid breathing)
Midas blenny (flashing, fought it)
2x royal gramma (first to go, didn't notice anything)

I would definitely pull fish and get them to QT as quick as possible. A FW dip for 5 min will help relieve symptoms until you can get them in copper.

I don’t think this is velvet, more likely late stage ich. The long time frame and the fish still feeding when they first show spots and then not breathing rapidly until near the end all point to ich. Velvet is actually pretty rare and the first symptom most people see are rapid breathing and lack of appetite, the tiny spots come along later.
I’ve never used Herbtana or Polyp Lab Medic because they don’t clearly state their ingredients. From what I can tell, the polyp Lab Medic is a peroxide salt and that might work, especially on velvet, but I have my reservations.
