Disease, Or Fish Sucked Into Wavemaker?

I woke up today to find my clown halfway inside my wavemaker, I’m not sure if it got sucked in while they where sleeping since they do sleep next to my wake maker, I turned it off and he got out of it in a couple seconds, was he already sick with some disease or exhausted from being trapped? I saw him eat last night around 9 pm and saw them doing well near the wavemaker at around 11 pm, and I woke up to this today, I’ve had them for 6-7 months, he’s now breathing rapidly on top of my return nozzle but before that he was trying to swim off my ai Nero 3 and it kind of looked like he jumped off of it instead before going to the top of my return nozzle. The first image is how I found him, 2nd image was him after he got unstuck of the wavemaker, 3,4th image was where he ended up after the jumping motion I was talking about, video was how he last was before I left.

Often a sign of a weak or distressed fish which looks moribund and actively dying

Sorry, it does look moribund. Healthy fish rarely get pulled into submersible pumps.

Is there any way you can get it off the algae and into a clean hang on the side acclimation chamber? I’m worried that various worms and pods may come out of the algae and try to feed on it.

I had to leave sadly, but the last I saw was that it had swam up to the return nozzle and laid on top of it, fast breathing but also not the worst, it still couldn’t swim properly though, it seemed exhausted

Sorry to see, it does appear there is/was a disease issue. Impossible to say what though, after the fish have died and are out of the water.

I didn’t realize you had two clowns. Are there any other fish in the tank? If so, they are at risk. If there are no other fish, you’ll need to leave the tank fishless for 60 days to ensure any fish disease dies out due to lack of a host.

I didn’t realize you had two clowns. Are there any other fish in the tank? If so, they are at risk. If there are no other fish, you’ll need to leave the tank fishless for 60 days to ensure any fish disease dies out due to lack of a host.

Yeah, no other fish, I didn’t mention the Darwin Clown because she was perfectly normal when I left the house at 8 am, came back home to find a snail eating her, I guess I learned my lesson about qt.
