Disfigured Anemone

Hi all,

My anemone looks like it has herpes!
Not that I'm an expert on herpes

Any idea what could be causing it?

How long have you had the nem? Have you changed anything up since introducing it? At a min I would suspend its tinder account until you get it tested!

Thanks. I'll try cut down on the blue for a while. Its been a week but has been like this since day 1.

Keep in mind it grew this way so if you've only had it a week or so and it was like this when you got it it's not your lights. If possible find out the lighting conditions it was grown under and just make sure you're not duplicating them. Also, there may be some other factor that's caused it to grwo that way and messing with your lights may not have any effect. The reason I suspect it's UV/blue light is UV/blue can cause "bounce" like growths in corals. Here's an example with superman rhodactys mushrooms in one of my systems. ALso keep in mind if your system doesn;t promote this effect, whatever the cause may actually be, it may take a very long time for your anemone to revert to "normal".
