DIY “Feed mode” button?

Is there a way to DIY an analog feed mode button which can pause the flow for 15 min? Trying to set up an unused tank 3 gal long tank in my sons room with some sexy shrimp, zoas, and maybe a ricordia mushroom. I’d like him to be able to feed the shrimp by pressing a button which pauses the HOB filter (only flow source) so he can drop some food to the shrimp but doesn’t have to remember to go back and turn the pump back on. I’d probably try to use this same solution on the ATO for water changes. What’s the best option? I know I could use an Amazon smart plug for voice control but thought a cheap analog solution might be even more fool proof. Thanks!
