Hey guys, this is going to be a pretty long post...with any luck I'll get the 155 gallon bowfront that I've been emailing about on cl. It is just the tank, drilled with dual corner overflows. I'm looking for any solid advice on a DIY stand. Found this thread

Which has been my inspiration, anything to add? I will not be running a closed loop but am planning to use all 4 overflow holes as drains and run the return lines behind the tank and up over the trim. I like the sounds of using the "hofer gurgle buster" drain

The plan is to (over)build the stand frame with 2x4s, skin it with plywood and then put pine boards on the outside to match the wall the tank will be sitting against. I am thinking of painting the back of the tank black, am a little undecided between black and blue. Does anyone have pictures of their painted tanks for inspiration? I'm sure I missed something, I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone has on this build! I'm pretty nervous haha..thank you all

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
