Summer heat getting to your aquarium but want to the avoid the cost of a standard aquarium chiller? This DIY evaporative chiller created by Paul B might be just the ticket to help you lower water temperatures AND save on energy costs. Here's how to build it: DIY Marine Aquarium Chiller

This idea Is OK If you live in an area of low humidity. If you live in the southeast, Florida, Texas, or the Pacific Northwest, it might actually harm your house.

In areas of high humidity, your AC is working overtime to dry out the air in your home. If you add to this load, it makes your AC work harder. If the AC can't keep up with the moisture, the home may succumb to mildew or mold. So be careful when adding an evaporative cooler to your system.. It may do well in one area and ruin your home in another.

No problem, glad you are all enjoying it.

As Windy mentioned, your mileage may vary. Take your locale into account, as well as the the specific factors of your home.
