As an alternative point of view, I do not want to excessively remove organics and particulates because I want filter feeders to eat them, if they can. I can see a lot in my water. I know many folks like super clear water, but I think having particulates of many types and sizes is more natural for a reef. :)

I have a very few vermatids that I could not reach and wanted to see if this would get them. I really didnt want to buy bumblebee snails as they will kill off my wonderfull trocus and turbos.
My water is clear enough and if it got any clearer it would look like glass so I was not using it for that.

bumblebee snails won't kill healthy trochus or turbo snails

My bumblebee snails don’t bother any other snails unless they are dying or already dead. They spend most of their time on the rocks eating the few vermetid snails I have and spirorbid worms. A few of them seem to dig in the sand eating something, I’m guessing small worms of some kind.
