This year I've been running ICP-MS from Oceamo every ~3months and dosing trace elements based on the results. I was skeptical at first (and still am for some elements), but found it oddly satisfying to see the little checkboxes turn green in my report. Also I have noticed a difference in macroalgae and sponge growth, at least.

Three elements have proven to be stripped out quite fast: iron, silison, and vanadium. I suspect the iron sink is my macroalgae refugium, and the silicon is likely because I have alot of tunicates and sponges.

First question, is it ok to mix iron and silicon supplements for daily dosing? I'm using reef moonshiner's iron right now, but when it runs out I'm planning to use Randy's diy recipe with fergion. For silicon I use sodium silicate (water glass). For vanadium I use Randy's Vanadium pentoxide diy recipe (~22 ug/ml).

I'm not sure why vanadium is so low but I've doubled the dose twice now (starting @ 5ml) and it's still below 1 ug/l (Oceamo says target range is 2-3 ug/l). Maybe my calculation was wrong when I mixed the additive. Is this worth daily dosing of vanadium? I don't think that is commonly done but it seems like my tank drains vanadium for some reason, or I screwed up the diy recipe and it's more dilute than I thought. I have about 400l in the display and am dosing 20ml of the solution so I should be now dosing 400ug every week. Seems like alot, right?

I know with RMS, that would be a no. They are not to be mixed in same bottle or syringe

I would not mix them for fear of precipitating iron hydroxide or silicate.
