I am building a Fleece roller and at the point of ordering paper.

I have seen the Red Sea rollers run 50 micron paper.

I was thinking of running 100 micron, with the option of switching to 50 later once the system is cleaned out a bit.

I don’t really want to strip everything.

Any thoughts? Or places to order custom rollers?
Or any ideas on cutting a longer roll down?
Looking at coolant paper

My system is designed for an 8” roll.

You want 30 or 20 to filter more. The lower the number the more it filters. 100 would allow for more to pass through.

I understand the rating. I want it to be larger at first. This is on a 210g softie tank with big messy fish. Don’t need to catch everything and burn thru paper- just the big stuff. At least for the first couple weeks while I blow out the rocks and clean the tank up.

Search here for Preconfilters. They are a company many are buying fleece from. I'm pretty sure they have different micron fleece and can cut it to length as needed.

Here's one thread that may help out.

I can run the bubble magus ARF-L roll. 7.87” but the roll is small diameter. Only 25m long I believe.
Will probably order as a test.

But ideally My roller can hold up to 9” diameter, figuring around 100m in length.
