I have a 32" SB reef light that has some malfunctions...i don't know that much about electronics but i was wondering if there was a way to hard wire the ballast to make it a simple on/off light...the driver is shot but i think the ballasts are still good...i want to use an external timer....any advice or suggestions are appreciated

ballast? led drivers dont have ballast. Do you mean the driver itself gone bad? You can use any off the shelf power adapter with same voltage/current rating and that should do the job. Its also trivial to throw ldd drivers and make them dimmable
