DIY Lighting Diffuser?

What does everyone use for a DIY lighting diffuser? Something that won’t be affected by heat, doesnt absorb uv, etc? Sanded acrylic? Lighting diffuser panel?
 
Yes and yes. If you're softening the acrylic you're not pulling heat from the right spot :)
Aware of any materials that allow UVA like 350nm through?
 
This will also reduce shimmer of LED right?

What light were you using that was emitting 350nm wavelengths? And for what purpose did you want that? Not criticizing you, I am just curious since I saw this thread pop back up.
