FYI, that works out to 0.2 g/L of Mo, not 2 g/L: 0.7595 g / 1.5 L * 0.395 = 0.2 g/L. EDIT: The 200ug/mL part is correct, though.

What are the benefits of dosing molybdenum?

All photosynthetic organisms use it, and even a small amount of algae can deplete the tank of it very rapidly.

Thanks! Is there a good rule of thumb (i.e. add X ppm every Y days) that would be recommended to add Mo for a fully stocked mixed reef?

I’m not really doing regular ICP tests.

I was mistakenly thinking of manganese, not molybdenum. Sorry. Manganese depletes faster. I don't know of a simple dosing scheme that is always desirable for molybdenum.

Here's my take on it when I measured mine:

Molybdenum (Mo). Molybdenum is low, and if that is true, it’s an interesting and potentially important result. I don’t typically add any trace elements. I may consider adding some molybdenum as it is biologically important.

The last time I did an ICP test, the Mo result was 0.002 ppm, so similar to the result you got.

But interestingly, the Triton setpoint of 0.012 ppm is quite different from the coralvue ICP setpoint of 0.0015 ppm, which is supposed to be the level in Fiji. Not sure which is more appropriate.
