DIY Rock / Branch coming out of water

So I'm gonna do my own rock structure, and I think it would be cool and a good idea to have a branch actually come out of the water. I have an open top and I think this would be helpful to crabs. Does anyone see a problem with that or think its a bad idea?

hard to put a screen or top on the tank to keep "jumpers" in. other than that...not a bad idea. cant see how it would be "helpful", but wouldnt hurt. Ive had rocks come out of the water in the past...and yes, snails, hermits, and the occasional crab make their way onto the rock. But, keeping the fish in the tank is a much better idea.
