By chance have you sold any of those skimmers? I have a skimmer I picked up for cheap to make an external skimmer and for the life of me I can figure out who makes it. But looking at this skimmer they are close to identical.

No I still have them, I put them aside thinking I’d get back to them someday but never did.

It's a question of cost not if I can build it or not.
PVC and a dc pump. Cheaper than buying a fancy one. Make a venturi, power it with dc pump, most builds can cost $150 vs 400 for an equally effective fancy skimmer.

If you have the room for an external or tall internal skimmer than I would build one every time instead of buying one.

If your going to build one that's going to be fancy like a production skimmer that yes that will cost more to make than buying one.

It would have to fit in my stand 22 to 23 inches max height is what I could go. The skimmer would also have to be external. As far as feeding the skimmer that would be off a manifold. My total system is about 100 gallons and heavy bio load. I have no problem going the PVC route. Would a skimmer that small work without a needle wheel pump?
