DIY Skimmer??

Has anyone ever attempted to make a diy protein skimmer? I love doing little diy products and also protein skimmers are pretty expensive so I’m looking to see if anyone has ever done a cheaper diy version. Please leave any pics or steps to make your skimmer if you have thanks!

You can build it in your sump from return waterfall + air pump in a skimmer container. I still think how to do it. But since we have sumps it is possible

If you google for "DIY protein skimmer" you will see people have been doing that for a reeeealy long time . :-)

Made this 25 yrs ago, still works and you can make it cheaper still if you make it out of pvc which is cheap and easy to work with!!!
