I am looking at building my own stand. My local Menards have precut 2 x6 for a 125 gallon tank. Would it be a good idea to buy the pre cut or by a 8 foot pieces and cut the down to 72 inches 6 feet?

Will you need exactly 6 ft or slightly over? Measure the 6 footers before buying.

Nothing like building your own stand, take your time, do it right, and than paint it or stain it the color you like.

pre-cuts can vary, you will get more precise cuts doing it yourself. and you can trim blemishes a little better if you DIY.
