I am getting ready to setup a 325 gallon acrylic tank and am wanting to build a wood stand for it. I was wondering if anyone had any plans for a stand similar in size they would be kind enough to share as I want to make sure the stand is strong. My tank is 84" long x 32" wide x 28" tall. For the frame I was thinking of using 4x4's for the vertical members, but am debating between 2x6's or 2x4's for the horizontal members. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks,

Tim

2 X4 verticals will be fine. I would use 2 x 6 for the horizontal members, depending on you span over doors.

2 X 4's are more than enough for the verticals . I would also use 2 x 6 for the top framing topped with 3/4'' MDO . I would also place a vertical 2 x 4 center span both front and back (min.) Sheet the exterior with min 3/8 plywood to reduce racking.
