So decided my 22g that is almost 6 months old needed some new upgrades. One being a sump! Well as many know sumps can be sometimes quite expensive and since I didn't have too much money this Christmas, I decided DIY sump it is! Yes it isn't the most amazing sump ever but hey it'll do the job! And of course my stand is too small for a 10g tank and too big for smaller tanks, and custom sumps are a bit pricey. So a DIY plastic tote sump was the way to go!

And of course I had to get a few other upgrades also...:p So I got a new Vipar Spectra LED light with a remote, timer and channel controls for night and day. Yes it was a bit pricey IMO because of course there's more expensive lights out there but being only 18 and not making a ton of money, a $129 light was the best choice for me! Oh also can't forget the goodies for the sump! Got a brand new Blue Ocean Over Flow 600, a Rio+ 1100 return pump and a Aqua Lifilter for the over flow.

Don't hate on the sump lol! My dad tried his best and IMO no one is going to see it but me and as long as it does the job it was made for then well who cares what it looks like!:D

The sheer satisfaction of a DIY project and it being functional is worth it's weight in gold. Enjoy!!
Yes very true! I'll add some pics tomorrow since everything I got will be added to the tank tomorrow so I look forward to showing the new additions off!
