At the time, I needed a new project to hone my DIY skills, this is basically what I came up with during a discussion with the owner of a "coral specialized" LFS near my house...

He gave me a Tunze Stream - model 6080, to which I will mated to a Reef-Rat drive unit so that the Stream would sweep back and forth thru a 90° arc in 1 minute intervals like the Reef-Rat.

This went in a 220 gallon acrylic tank full of SPS at his store.

The idea came from the Tunze Stream that had a loose bracket which allowed the stream to "wander" from side to side... we both agreed it would be neat to see this oscillating back and forth using a drive unit...

The benefit of the Tunze Stream's wide current path coupled with the Reef-Rat's oscillating 90° sweep resulted in a hybrid that created an environment that the SPS would thrive in...

after finishing the Tunze Stream 6080 mounting bracket / drive shaft assembly and the Tunze 6080.50 Magnet Holder bracket.... hinge assembly followed. Result that was up and running in the LFS within the week.

This concept was of my own invention (circa 2004) as can be seen in posts on other saltwater aquarium websites. Well before any competing or similar product was disclosed or came to commercial market.
I offer this project under GPL licensing for construction and use by the general reefing public and that it may not be patented for commercial use.
