DIY uv sterilizer?

Anyone have any ideas/liks to designs on how to make one? I'm on a large DIY binge for my tank and figured why not look into a uv sterilizer.

Easier to just buy one, they are fairly cheap and building one would cost about the same. I'm not expert, but they run on a ballast/bulb combo, and the ballast alone is going to be expensive, then the cost of your bulb.

This would be one to look into for your cube, nothing too big.

Would one normally used for a pond work? Found one with just the same watts that's used for ponds for $40

I wouldnt go with one for a pond, its probably not made to withstand the salt in the waters.

I've had koi ponds too, and they are constructed differently.
