Do all Redsea aquariums have chewed up silicon in the corners?

Im worried about the integrity of the silicon and want to know if its normal

If it was a cheaper tank, I would just chalk it up to "you get what you pay for." Unfortunately, you paid for quality and I am not seeing where you got what you paid for in those pictures. I would definitely call Red Sea and send them those pictures. My 2¢ anyway...

If i saw someone with this i would have thought it was a fake Redsea tank or something

yeah screw that I would fight it still. try returning it

The reseller is a great reseller i have delt with them in the past they are very good
they saw my post and contacted Redsea i don’t want them to get stuck with it at a loss

Ill see what the seller can do then I’ll figure it out

No one could do anything
Just a recap i received a sump with a cracked panel (replaced)
Two doors with chips in them (nothing)
One door that’s doesn’t close properly (was sent a door closer that did nothing i think the frame is not alined properly)
And a silicone job that looks like a baby siliconed it then started picking at it (nothing done since they dragged out the time with their reply’s and claimed since it was 6 months old cant do anything)

Im updating this now because its happening to someone else and i did not realize i did not update you guys

Wow this is awful. Rethinking my decision to buy a Red Sea tank. Customer service like this on an item this expensive is not acceptable.

I like redsea products allot

After all this if i were to buy any tank from any company i would thoroughly inspect it in front of the trucker
I would make them even if it takes me 3 hours

Its a shame but they taught me a expensive lesson

washing their hands of all liability. typical of most tank manufacturers. i get it from a risk standpoint, but there’s also something called “customer service”.

those seams look messy and some look like patch jobs after the initial bead had already been laid. not sure if it would cause any splitting issues, but it is ugly and i would expect more for the prices they charge.

I've been dealing with the same Red Sea service rep. I've been having fits trying to adjust the Red Sea valve on the down pipe to the sump. They have been no help at all.

I've got some good ideas from the forum and ordered the parts and will replace the Red Sea valve with a Spears gate valve. I hope this makes adjustment manageable.

yup. if i ever had a tank shipped to me, i would make fast friends with the delivery guy so he doesn’t get mad when it takes me forever to inspect everything. lol.

Yes a gate valve would fix it
Had the same issue but i knew about it before my purchase

They are still liable since i mentioned it to them as a issue they said it’s nothing
So fail on both ends customer service and liability

I think the same its a patch job after the initial silicone job im thinking spacers that were removed after the first silicone dried

Its a very common problem in redsea tanks (Facebook has told me)
just allot of people don’t notice it until its too late or they never look at the tank from the side

Red Sea tanks come with Diaphragm Valves, which can be tricky to tune. The experiences posted here are pretty disappointing, I have always been a fan of red sea and there products but these customer service experiences are pretty bothersome.
