I would assume they do, if I had thought about it before. I really thought the crab was dead until it occurred today that this might be his molt. What do y'all think?

It's the pile of little sponges and zoa is the middle of the pic.
 
Yes they do. They are arthropods and all arthropods molt in order to grow. Cheers
