Hi. I bought this purple tip frogspawn a couple of days ago, with the thought that it would add some color to my reef. Under my lighting (and in natural lighting) it looks like this:

Under the blue lights, it has a slight hint of green, and is a strong neon green when closed up or stressed. I’m wondering if it is at all related to this particular type of purple tipped frogspawn:

If it is, does it have the potential to color up as it grows, or do these corals get bred for specific colorations? Or are they completely different species?

All corals have different colors depending of the light you have in your reef, if you would like to enhance some colors, you can tune down the white channel in your lights.

It only had a slight hint of green at the store as well, especially compared to some of the really colorful corals there.

You may have too much white light or too little blue and royal blue in your tank. It should look like this.

Just might be a peach colored frogspawn considering it was the same color under the LFS lights too.

Edit: Not my photo

I have had luck with daily amino acids and a little coral food for coloring up my torches. Definitely need more blues though.
