Do Purple Tangs jump....ever?

My purple is a complete ******, in a 315 gallon you would think he would be fine with the yellow, but boy 6-7 years on he still can't stand the yellow. Especially if he feels food starts to get scarce aka I don't feed as much every day. So, I am going to catch him at night and put him in my 50 gallon rubbermaid sump (corals and cuc in there). Any chance he hops out while in detention?

That's my fear. Lose a long owned fish because he got spooked and went for a dive. Maybe the bigger sump for him.

It's more off than on, and I try to give them the benefit of the doubt given I have had them for so long. But I may need to make a change. I am feeding them a ton, so we shall see. Interestingly my sailfish desjardini, is the biggest of the 3 and stays out of it.

He has been relocated to the 150 gallon sump connected to everything. Looks a mess, but he can keep the 6 line in there company for a bit. And it would take one heck of a jump to get out.

You can just cover it with a net or some towels if you’re worried, it doesn’t need to be fancy or anything.

most likely not going to jump that high in that sump, but i learned to cover my tank expensive way, after my 9'' blond naso jumped, that was one way to many for me.
