Snails can breed in tanks, just depends on what type. Most of the ones that we hobbyists keep for algae control don't readily breed in the aquarium. The ones in the pic are too small to tell, they're probably harmless.

I've had thousands of all kinds of different snails hatch in my tanks. Stomatella and limpets are really prolific. Right now have hundreds of baby turbos.

Snails are broadcast spawners, eggs and sperm released into the water column. There are not many marine snails that are successfully raised in the average marine aquarium.

Smaller snail types are most likely a completely different type of snail like Collinista.

Without hermits and crabs you probably have a better chance of seeing those juvenile snail as they become quick food for other inverts.
