I have three Aqua UV 15w sterilizers plumbed into my three return pumps. If water is flowing, they are running. I’ve had this set up for nearly four years and just replace the bulbs after 12 months. I’ve not had any issues with the lamps or any blooms of any kind.
i run it for bacterial control why do you have UV? i always like to hear why people run them.

Same, really. Had a few sever bacterial blooms in my early days of the hobby and was tired of trying to manually manage them as they cropped up. When I built this system, just planned on plumbing in UV so that 100% of the water would be treated. Haven’t had any issues since!

I run mine 0/0, meaning not at all. I got them for dinos, dinos are gone, and I do not want to kill organisms in the water. I want microorganisms to thrive and feed filter feeders.
