Does anybody know what’s wrong with my hammerhead? It’s turning brown and black.

Is the brown or Black a goo or it it the actual color of coral? You can take a Turkey baster or something and try to blow it off a very little to check. Most likely is brown jelly disease

If brown jelly I would reccomend a dip of some sort. I like lougals iodine dip of 2 gallons of water to 60 drops of lugals in a bucket with small power head not directly point at coral for 15 min. Then rinse dip in tank water and return to tank. Unfortunately brown jelly disease is like a 80% mortality rate so chances are you gonna lose the Coral if that’s what it is anyways

For what it’s worth I feel the low nutrients in your tank as starved the coral, so it was not healthy enough to fight off the brown jelly disease

Nothing is coming off when I blow on it.
Well this is a good sign for you. So yes best thing you could do is possibly water change to ensure some pollutants are taken out and needed elements, added back to the tank along with getting the nitrates and phosphates up

Could it be turning that color because of the lack of nutrients. Also I’m having an algae problem could that be taking nutrients out of the water.

Yes the change of color could be due to lack of nutrients and an unhealthy and unhappy Coral
