Does anyone currently have the red head halichoeres wrasse? I remember them making their rounds 4-5 years ago a little before I left the hobby but haven’t seen one since. They’re such a neat looking fish!

I haven't seen one in many years either. I bet it has to do with their remote collection areas, and being poor shippers doesn't help. I'm interested to see if anyone on R2R has one I would love to see some pics!!

Yes I remember them not shipping well! I believe their gills were prone to damage during shipping

Interesting, I hadn't heard that about their gills. Not sure if you were ever on RC, but a few people on there that were able to keep rubricephalus long-term said that their beautiful red head faded to a maroon color with a yellowish band as they matured. Fingers crossed someone on here can chime in with their experience.

I wasn’t on RC very long. We had one at the store I worked at for at least a year. Eventually it’s head did fade and I remember it had a greenish tint that faded to black. I don’t recall whatever happened to that fish though.

I'm jealous that you got to see one in person! Very cool!

HOW MUCH DOES A FISH’S FEEDING REQUIREMENTS AFFECT YOUR STOCKING DECISIONS?
